GTC has long been committed to driving forward ultrafast connectivity in the UK and has focused on building future-proof fibre networks. The company has made significant investment to ensure that its fibre infrastructure is gigabit capable today and ready to offer even faster speeds as technology and customer usage patterns evolve. All GTC onsite fibre infrastructure is already gigabit capable and the offsite capability of historic sites is in the process of being upgraded, with a number now completed. This will ensure that all customers connected to a GTC fibre network will have access to gigabit services when required.
Sky-ready homes
In September 2019, GTC further enhanced its fibre offering by agreeing a partnership with Sky, to ensure all residential customers on our fibre networks have direct access to Sky’s full range of products and services, including Sky Q. From 2021, Sky will offer its full range of products and services to new and existing residential developments connected to GTC’s fibre networks.
This joint offer gives housebuilders the opportunity to benefit from GTC’s first-class multi-utility service delivery of any combination of five utilities, together with TV, phone and ultrafast broadband services, all backed by a highly competitive commercial package with up-front rebates. Since October 2019, all GTC’s quotes include the commercial arrangement with Sky. This includes rebates for both fibre and Sky Q in home wiring which are automatically deducted from the overall cost when taken as part of a multi-utility contract – offering both cash-flow benefits and lower future administration costs for house builders.
Open access network
GTC’s fibre network is open access, offering customers a wide range of choices from currently 10 different residential service providers including a variety of different products and speeds to meet their needs and requirements.
